One Last Thing Before You Go
A goodbye to 2023, and wink at 2024, and a big ol' scream into the empty void (and other tales for children)
With barely another second left in this “amazing” and “great” and totally “rad” year, I thought I could take two seconds to highlight some things. Bear with me here.

When I think of the worst parts of 2023, I can’t help but think of personal ways that I failed or let people down. I also can’t forget the ways that folks I love(d?) and care(d??) about let me down.
The world is a dark, bleak place. Tons of bad shit is happening everywhere, all the time. There are things we can do to help make it a little bit better for us and those around us. 2023 was full of events that really helped remind us how ugly it all is.
Obviously, I want to always try to be better and to do better. I hope that I find myself doing more of that in 2024.
Also, the whole idea and concept of a “new year” is so arbitrary. I mean yeah, there is a reason behind it and things that make sense, but the way we go about measuring successes and losses and wins and challenges through this window of a year. The way we reset and erase begin anew every ~365 days. Kinda silly, no? Not sure where I am trying to go with that but it just crossed my mind. It is a silly way to go about it all, but it is what we know so there really isn’t a way around it as a global community. We can, on a more individual level, step back and looks at things at a much larger (or smaller) scale and go about our lives that way. The yearly thing is tired!!
Tired: 365 = year
Wired: setting your own lookback/look-forward period
Anyways, I am ending 2023 and entering my BAKING ERA. Made a Sourdough Starter and have baked TF outta of for the past week. I’m talking French Bread, Biscuits, White Bread….y’all. Get ready. I’m addicted. In 2024, all I care about it my sourdough starter and 35mm photography. Get with the times, kids.
ANYWAYS, leave a comment here using this little button and tell me something good about your year, or something about these silly lil newsletters that you’ve loved, or tell me a secret, or just how much you like me 👉🏼👈🏼
